La Liga expected to draw 2 billion euros in TV revenue for the 2019-20 season

TV revenue for La Liga is projected to top 2 billion euros (US$2.2 billion) for the first time this season.
Spain top two divisions this week announced media rights income of 1.86 billion euros (US$2.07 billion) for 2018-19 season, a ten per cent increase on the 1.688bn euros for the 2017-18 campaign.

The bulk of that comes from May 2018's domestic rights auction which saw Mediapro lose out to Telefonica who paid 980 million euros (US$1.09 billion) per year for live rights from 2019 to the end of the 2021-22 season.

Mediapro picked up two rights packages in May for an undisclosed fee believed to have been under the reserve price, and has renewed its agreement for international rights through to 2024 in a 4.48 billion euros  (US$4.98 billion) deal.
