ESPN to deliver highlights show on short-form video start-up Quibi when it launches next year

ESPN has agreed to provide a daily sports highlights show on short-form video platform Quibi when it launches next April.

The show will be part of Quibi's Daily Essentials which site founder Jeffrey Katzenberg is aiming at young mobile phone viewers.
 
Katzenburg, a former chairman of Walt Disney Studios and founder of DreamWorks, said: Daily Essentials is setting out to take information and organize it, specially produce it, curate it and make it convenient.

 The partnership with Quibi is viewed as being part of ESPNs overall mobile strategy, which has the sports network developing content for Facebook, Instagram, Snap and Twitter, among others. The hope is that mobile users will migrate to ESPN's OTT streaming service ESPN+.
